Dead Guy

This is a short one, because the next “would be a famer if he had a blog” stopped his blog some time ago, but as I run this site I’m licensed to do do this.

My old blogging friend I. M. Dedd, (Paul Malden for the purposes of this), submitted a cartoon to a national contest and it was selected as one of 12 finalists! The contest was sponsored by the Union of Concerned Scientists and the topic was: “How Government Interferes with Science.” Hundreds of entries were submitted nationwide and were judged by a panel of prominent cartoonists including Wiley Miller (the creator of Non Sequitur) and Pulitzer Prize winner Signe Wilkinson (Philadelphia Daily News). The 12 finalists will be featured on a 2009 calendar from the UCS.

For those unfamiliar with I.M. Dedd, he ran a the great political cartoon blog Dead Guy Lives until November of 2006 when much to the dismay of many he left the seemingly increasingly manure filled pastures of the blogesphere for places more pristine.

Rumor has it Dedd will be back on the blogging air waves soon.

I encourage you to go to the link and vote for #9 Paul Malden. It takes not a minute to vote for # 9.

Almost a carbon copy of a post on my personal blog.

For those wanting to submit a post for SBF, feel free to contact us. We look at everything, but are not a rating blog. We want blogs which have been around (preferably a year or so though there are exceptions), and perhaps are not getting as much attention as they should. Spectacular writing, intelligence, something different. If you know a blogger you would like to write a post about, and if you can write a post in clear concise English on why they should be famous let us know. We get a lot of requests from individuals telling us they should be famous, we do not look at blogs that send us those emails. We judge blogs we love and read, and we don’t fame blogs we have never read or just started to read, which is why we ask for your favorites and your posts on them.
