O Ceallaigh’s Felloffatruck, yes he did.
Our “Famer” for the start of spring hails from Maine, by way of Hawaii, bringing with him an interesting suitcase.
Welcome O Ceallaigh’s Felloffatruck Publications to the short list on our blog of fame.
Much of the wonder of this blog is in the thought behind the writing, because face it the fact of thought on a blog these days qualifies it for a place on the most endangered species list. A list this famer is most likely all too familiar with.
With the proliferation of blogs it is hard to remember exactly how I came across this journal. I believe, somewhere in the middle of my blogging life, I found him in a den of enigmatic cynics.
The blogger behind this publication, called amoeba by his friends, is a research marine biologist/oceanographer specializing on the microbes in the sea.
This blog, and its predecessors, which you can find links to in his indices and index pages, is full of essays, poetry, and commentary on a variety of things from politics and education, to local fauna and popular music. Once in awhile you might even find a post about science or marine biology. Sometimes you will find one single post to include a story about science, politics, popular music, and local fauna, all in one large neat package.
Don’t let the enormity of it scare you. You might do best to read the whole post before coming to the conclusion that it is way above your head, because often there is a punchline of sorts, and you just might get it. I like to call it the punchline for those not cerebrally impaired, but if you pay attention you will understand, and learn something in the process of trying to understand. You will always learn something.
OC is also known for hosting a blogger party which contained The New Millennium Devil’s Dictionary
He’s had a few incarnations of his site and has settled nicely with his WordPress publication.
It’s worth noting this scientist plays a trumpet, writes poetry, and moonlights as a multiple personality in the form of Dude and Dude where he takes a few bats at dumbass culture. I know it’s weird but scientist are people too. If you don’t believe me than ask Quilly.
Quilly is a teacher, and blogger, formerly from the Pacific Northwest. Our current famer convinced her by means unknown, and believe me I tired to find out, to take off with him on a whim to live the hard life among the Mao hau hele in the no snake, continually desirous of concession, state of Hawaii.
Yup, I told you he had an interesting suitcase.
Together they publish O’Ceallaigh & The Quill.
Quilly, besides the blog already noted, writes at Oahu Dreams, Bits of Me in Poetry, and Cooking with Quilly.
Go check out the OC, with forewarning that if that was the title of what you consider the best show of all time you had better bring your interpreter.
